Harry Potter Fans are Angry as ‘Cursed Child’ Ticket Sites Crash Again

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been the most popular play of 2016, with fans clamouring to get their hands on every new batch of tickets available for the show. Fortunately, thousands more tickets went on sale this morning, though the vast majority have struggled to get their hands on one.

The huge influx of Potter fans looking to book tickets has resulted in the two ticket sites hosting them — Nimax Theatres and ATG Tickets — struggling to keep up with the demand. Those who have been waiting in the online queue since 11am this morning have reported that the sites have suffered crashes, have failed to process payments and have even inexplicably sent visitors right to the back of the queue after they have reached the front.

Many took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, requesting that the Cursed Child production uses different distributors to sell their tickets in the future:

60,000 tickets were released this morning for performances through to February 4, 2018. With so many taking to the play’s ticket sites it was inevitable that problems would arise, but many have expressed frustration that the distributors are unable to handle the high demand from Potter fans. The next release of tickets will take place in January 2017, so those who have missed their chance this time around will be able to give it another shot in the new year.
