The Book Report Podcast #100! Featuring ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Writer Dan Slott!

Here we are, folks! The dream we all dream of! 100 episodes of The Book Report, Crave Online’s comic book podcast, bringing you a super-sized special edition so big we had to spread it out over two shows!  In this episode, which we’re calling #100.1, your mainstay for all 100 episodes Iann Robinson and your Comics Editor for the last 53 editions Andy Hunsaker bring you an extended interview with our favorite Marvel writer going right now, Dan Slott of Amazing Spider-Man! And, of course, we give our thoughts on that little Avengers movie you might’ve heard about.

Slott regales us with tales of his youth, his inspiration, behind-the-scenes malarkey in the comic industry, and assures us that he will never, ever get burnt out on writing the adventures of his all-time favorite hero Spider-Man, and that’s something we should all be thankful for, because he’s the best guy for the job. Seriously, if you’re still holding out because of “One More Day,” you’ll want to listen – Slott respects your opinion but gives you plenty of food for thought, and assures us there’s absolutely no reason Peter Parker can’t date Mary Jane Watson again. We also get reflections on Great Lakes Avengers projects that were never to be, the controversy around Starfox and She-Hulk, lots of Dr. Who geeking out and the surprising results of Andy trying to foment a debate between Dan and Iann about the merits of Aunt Petunia’s Favorite Nephew Benjamin Jacob Grimm aka The Ever-Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing.

Also, don’t forget to check us out next time for #100.2, where we’ll be talking to our favorite DC writer going, Scott Snyder of Batman and Swamp Thing! We’d originally planned to have them both on this show, but we got so much good Slott action that we said ‘let’s do a two-fer!’ So here’s the one-fer first!
