Jax Taylor is seeking a substantial monthly payment from his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, as their divorce proceedings continue. The reality star has asked a judge to award him spousal support and cover significant legal expenses. He claims he currently has no steady source of income and has suffered career setbacks. His latest request also includes a separate dispute over decisions concerning their son’s care.
Jax seeks $17K in spousal support and $260K in legal costs from Brittany
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Taylor wants Cartwright to pay him $17,401 per month in spousal support. He is also asking her to cover $250,000 in attorney fees and an additional $10,000 for a forensic accountant. Taylor claims he is unemployed and has no steady source of income. He also accuses Cartwright of leading a campaign to portray him as an “abuser.”
Taylor alleges that the campaign damaged his reputation and cost him professional opportunities. He claims he lost a role on Special Forces and that Carpe Deodorant chose not to renew its partnership with him. However, his financial records reportedly show an average monthly income of $30,334 over the past year. He estimates his monthly expenses at $28,944.
Taylor also provided financial information about his assets and Cartwright’s business income. He says he has $464,671 across several bank accounts, along with $193,471 in other property. He estimates that Cartwright’s company generated $632,775 in gross income between January 1 and May 31. These figures are part of his financial disclosures in support of his request for support during the divorce.
The dispute also involves decisions about their son, Cruz. Taylor says he plans to ask the court to remove Cartwright’s tie-breaking authority over their son’s medical care. He cites what he describes as “newfound knowledge” of neglect and unreasonable delays involving Cruz’s care and school enrollment.
A hearing on the requests is scheduled for December 30. Taylor also recently requested that a judge declare him legally single while the remaining divorce issues are resolved. Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024.
