The Valley fans are familiar with the longtime friendship between Scheana Shay and Janet Caperna. However, their fallout has sparked controversy, with several explanations emerging over time. Now, Caperna has shared her side of the story, revealing what went wrong between them.
Janet Caperna says she is no longer speaking to Scheana Shay amid The Valley feud
During a recent appearance on Jeff Lewis Live on SiriusXM, Janet Caperna opened up about her falling-out with Scheana Shay. She confirmed that they have not spoken in months despite their longtime friendship.
Caperna said, “We were very close for very many years, and I will always wish her well. I love her and her family, but we’re not speaking right now. I think of most of her castmates, she’s only in touch with one or two, maybe. After like, years and years on a show.”
She then explained that their disagreement began after she shared information about Brock Davies’ past infidelity with Brittany Cartwright.
“She initially got mad at me because she was talking about, Brock cheated on her, and she was publishing it in her book and doing press for it. We were all at her house, and I knew that Lala knew, and Scheana was talking about this chapter and how she’s doing press for it and she was nervous for it, and Brittany was right there,” she added.
Caperna explained that she assumed Brittany already knew about the chapter in Shay’s memoir. However, she later realized that Brittany was unaware of the details. Caperna maintained that Brittany never leaked the information publicly and said she had apologized to Shay.
Despite her efforts to repair their friendship, the situation continued to deteriorate. Caperna summed up the fallout by saying, “It just got nasty.”
For context, Shay previously revealed that she felt Janet had betrayed her trust by sharing private information about Brock Davies with Brittany.
Although Caperna maintains that she never intended to hurt Shay, the former friends have yet to reconcile.
