Tim McGraw has cleared up a rumor surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. The country singer confirmed that he attended the star-studded celebration with his wife, Faith Hill. However, one widely reported detail about his appearance was inaccurate.

During an October 28 interview with Esquire, McGraw addressed the Tim McGraw wedding rumor. He confirmed attending the July 3 celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City. However, he firmly denied performing during the festivities.

“I didn’t perform at her wedding. That was a rumor,” McGraw told editor-in-chief Michael Sebastian. He then offered a simple explanation for the confusion. “The internet’s not always correct,” he added.

The couple joined hundreds of guests celebrating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Their attendance reflected Swift’s longstanding connection with the country music stars.

McGraw also spoke warmly about Swift during the interview. He described her relationship with his family as “close.” The singer also praised her ability to connect with different generations.

“She’s been to our house and hung out with our girls,” McGraw shared. He called Swift “a special person” and one of the most talented artists he’d met. He also said he couldn’t be prouder of her.

Their friendship dates back to 2006, when Swift released her debut single, “Tim McGraw.” The song was named after the country star himself. McGraw and Hill later became mentors, offering encouragement throughout her career.

The three musicians have also shared stages on several occasions. Swift previously performed with McGraw and Hill during her Reputation Stadium Tour. Their professional connection helped build a lasting personal friendship.

McGraw also expressed happiness about Swift’s relationship with Kelce. “We couldn’t be happier for her to find Travis, who’s a cool guy as well,” he said.

The celebration reportedly welcomed around 1,000 guests. Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, while numerous celebrities attended. McGraw’s clarification settled one question about the evening: he was there, but never took the stage.
