Anderson Cooper turned Donald Trump’s repeated compliments about Ohio Sen. Jon Husted into a comedy segment on CNN, using Seinfeld to introduce the unusual topic.
The segment followed Trump’s latest comments about Husted during a rally in Greenville, North Carolina. According to the supplied source, Trump had discussed the Republican senator’s appearance at four rallies this month.
CNN turned the president’s rally comments into a comedy segment
During the North Carolina rally, Trump told the crowd that he had been “studying” Husted’s body. “I looked at his a–, and then I looked at his legs… It’s like a pile of muscle,” Trump said.
Trump continued by commenting on Husted’s feet, shoulders, and overall build. He recalled tapping Husted on the shoulder and compared it to touching “a piece of steel.” Trump then described the senator as “a monster.”
The comments gave Cooper material for the closing segment of Wednesday’s Anderson Cooper 360°. The CNN host began by playing a scene from the Seinfeld episode “The Fusilli Jerry,” in which Kramer accidentally receives a DMV license plate reading “A–MAN.”
Cooper joked that Kramer was no longer New York’s most famous “a–man.” He then suggested Trump had taken the title after repeatedly discussing Husted’s appearance.
The Anderson Cooper joke did not stop with Husted. Cooper played older footage showing Trump complimenting other male Republicans. Trump had called Georgia Sen. Mike Collins “a good-looking man” and described Kentucky candidate Ed Gallrein as “a beautiful guy.”
Other clips showed Trump praising Rick Jackson, Greg Dolezal and Montana Sen. Tim Sheehy for their appearances. Cooper also revisited Trump’s 2024 remarks about golfer Arnold Palmer and a story involving Palmer in the locker room.
As per the Daily Beast, the CNN host continued the bit by calling Trump “the a– man in chief” and joking about Husted potentially returning his locker-room key at Trump Doral. Cooper also referenced Trump’s affection for “YMCA” and the musical Cats before closing with another joke about Husted.
“As for Senator Husted, his a– may be hard, but his polling is soft,” Cooper said. The remark referenced a Fox News survey cited in the supplied source that showed Husted trailing Democrat Sherrod Brown 52% to 47% among likely Ohio voters.
