According to Bravo, Emily visited Cafe Capyba with Tamra Judge and Jennifer Pedranti during the RHOC Season 20 trip. She enthusiastically suggested buying vegetables for the animals. After seeing the capybaras up close, she admitted, “I had no idea how big they are in person.”
While Emily sipped tea on a couch, one capybara approached her. The animal suddenly nibbled on her leg, prompting her to shout in surprise. Later, she told the other women about the incident during dinner.
“I’m checking to make sure it doesn’t get infected,” Emily explained. The cast examined the visible marks left on her leg. The encounter quickly became a memorable moment from the RHOC Tokyo trip.
Tamra and Jennifer immediately expressed concern after the bite. “What happened?!” Tamra asked, while Jennifer questioned, “What did you do?” Their reactions reflected the group’s initial concern about Emily’s injury.
Once Emily appeared to be okay, Gina Kirschenheiter brought some humor to the situation. She joked that Emily might undergo an unusual transformation after the bite. “I’m legit frightened that this is like a Spiderman situation. Or like a werewolf, you know?” Gina told producers.
Gina continued imagining bizarre consequences from the capybara bite. “I’m actually frightened that I’m going to wake up and I’m going to find this giant capybara living with me,” she joked. Her comments turned the incident into another entertaining cast moment.
During the Real Housewives of Orange County After Show, Emily also discussed the animals. Gina reminded her, “It’s a rodent,” while Emily responded, “I like rodents.” Emily even joked about their size and distinctive habits.
Despite the bite, the Japan trip offered plenty of other memorable experiences. Emily particularly enjoyed go-karting through Tokyo’s streets. Meanwhile, the cast explored temples, sampled Japanese cuisine, and experienced plenty of chaotic moments.
