Travis Barker Breaks Silence on Worrying Health Scare

Travis Barker has revealed that he recently underwent surgery after experiencing numbness in his arm, hand and fingers. The Blink-182 drummer, 50, shared the health update after being hospitalized for a cubital tunnel release procedure.

Barker posted photos from the hospital on Instagram, including one showing him in a hospital gown and surgical cap. His daughter, Alabama Barker, and wife, Kourtney Kardashian, were both by his side.

Barker said his arm, hand and fingers became numb after a September show. A nerve test on Oct. 5 confirmed that he needed surgery, which he underwent on Oct. 6. He wrote, “I wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so that I can keep playing the way I play for a long long time.” He added that he “Should be good in a few weeks.”

Barker also shared a photo on his Instagram story of Kardashian supporting him and joked, “Not sure why my wife looks so happy about this.”

His daughter was also present during his hospital stay. “My baby girl came with me,” Barker wrote alongside a photo of Alabama sitting near his hospital bed.

The procedure comes after several health challenges for Barker. He previously suffered severe injuries in a 2008 plane crash that killed four people and left him with serious burns. He was told he might never run again and could potentially lose his ability to play drums.

Looking back at the crash, Barker said, “People are always like, ‘Did you go to rehab?’ And I [say], ‘No, I was in a plane crash.’ That was my rehab.” He added, “Lose three of your friends and almost die? That was my wake-up call.”

More recently, Barker revealed that he injured his tibia while training for a marathon and needed crutches during his recovery.
