Diddy’s Prison Release Date Just Changed Again

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected federal prison release date has moved up again. According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, Diddy is now scheduled to leave FCI Fort Dix on Jan. 21, 2028, moving his release closer to the start of 2028.

Diddy’s projected federal prison release date moves up again, bringing him closer to an early 2028 release

Diddy’s release date was most recently listed as Feb. 5, 2028, after previously being set for Feb. 20. And now the date has been changed again, as reported by TMZ. His projected release date has changed several times since it was initially listed as June 2028. TMZ reported in September that the February date itself had been moved up by more than two weeks.

The update comes as Diddy serves a 50-month federal prison sentence. In July 2025, a jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution, also known as violations of the Mann Act. However, he was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges involving Cassie Ventura and Jane. The trial included nearly seven weeks of testimony from 34 prosecution witnesses.

Diddy was sentenced in October 2025 after his legal team asked for 14 months and prosecutors sought 11 years. Judge Arun Subramanian ultimately ordered him to serve 50 months and pay a $500,000 fine. He had already spent more than a year in custody following his September 2024 arrest and received credit for time served.

Meanwhile, Diddy’s time at Fort Dix has also included an altercation with another inmate. TMZ reported in July 2026 that the two got into a scuffle after the inmate allegedly dissed Diddy, with prison staff separating them before Diddy was placed in solitary confinement. His release date can also depend on credits for good behavior.

With his projected release now set for January 2028, Diddy could be out of federal prison just weeks into the new year.
