He also revealed that the royal family are big WhatsApp users and freely handed out their numbers to the staff.
Former royal staff reveals how they saved Prince William and Prince Harry’s names on their phones
The insider observation comes from Jack Stooks, a former royal gardener who worked alongside King Charles’s Highgrove estate for several decades. According to GB News, he revealed details about how members of the royal family communicated with each other and with staff.
He said that the staff had hilarious names for the brothers, which they used to save their names on their phones. William was ‘Bobcat’, Harry was ‘Baz’, and when Catherine joined the family, she became ‘Mrs Bobcat’.
He also disclosed that both the family and the staff communicated via the phone when either needed the other. Stooks waxed eloquent about Prince William, who, he said, was very mindful of the staff’s schedule, even when he needed some errands completed.
“He may have a lot of privilege, but William was never one to demand something from staff. He was really polite.” Stooks said. He continued,
“He would always check how busy I was before asking me to do errands for him. And whenever I said I would do something for William, he would always reply: ‘You’re a legend.’”
The ex-staffer also noted that all royals were active on the phone. “They’re very much like any other family when it comes to keeping in touch through their phones,” he explained. He also noted that the family members willingly gave out their phone numbers to the staff.
King Charles has been the odd one out among the family. He reportedly stayed away from the phone despite his sons’ attempt to get him to cave in to technology.
