PEOPLE reported that Presley died at a Santa Monica-area rehabilitation facility. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has completed an autopsy, but the cause and manner of death have been deferred pending additional testing.

The Medical Examiner’s office said the investigation remains ongoing and that limited information is available. Officials said paramedics pronounced Presley dead at 9:45 a.m. on September 20. The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating the death as a suspected overdose.
