Jimmy Kimmel has a movie pitch inspired by President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The late-night host joked about the pair’s friendly dynamic following their recent joint press conference.
Jimmy Kimmel compared Donald Trump and Zohran Mamdani’s friendly dynamic to a bizarre “buddy road trip movie”
During Monday’s monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the late-night show host had a bizarre suggestion for Donald Trump and Zohran Mamdani. Kimmel’s comments came after the president and NYC mayor held a joint press conference following their meeting in Gracie Mansion.
According to The Wrap, Kimmel said, “Yeah. Why aren’t these so-called journalists gushing over how well he’s mishandling the war he said was over seven months ago? It’s just not right. Some people are Negative Nellies. That’s all.”
The late-night show host praised Mamdani for inviting all journalists to the press conference.
He added, “And I have to say, you would think these two would get along about as well as a garbage disposal and a fork, but Trump really does seem to like Mamdani. You ever see him do that with any of his children other than Ivanka? I mean, you ever see him whisper in the ear of JD Vance and slap him like that?”
Kimmel sarcastically quipped, “It’s the weirdest buddy road trip movie of all time.”
The president and the mayor were present at Gracie Mansion to discuss infrastructure. Later, they held a joint press conference. Mamdani, who invited the president to the press conference, said he is willing to work with anyone who “delivers” for New York.
The two appeared friendly during the conference, unlike Trump’s previous sarcastic remarks about Mamdani.
Following their press conference, Jimmy Kimmel addressed the situation on his show. Kimmel often delivers monologues about Trump. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. on ABC.
