The scene added another twist to Gunvalson’s full-time return for Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20. Her latest explanation, however, suggested she wanted privacy with her guests rather than asking the women to leave.

On the RHOC After Show, Vicki Gunvalson explained why she told production to stop filming inside her home. She said she wanted quiet time with her girlfriends and felt ready for the camera crew to leave after a difficult evening.
“I want some time with my girlfriends to get to know them quietly without cameras,” Gunvalson said. She added that the crew had moved outside before she told them it was time to go.
The explanation followed the tense La Quinta overnight that preceded Emily and Jenn’s decision to leave. Emily and Jenn had already grown uncomfortable as arguments continued inside the house. Michael Smith, Gunvalson’s boyfriend, also arrived while tensions remained high.
Emily later told Gunvalson that the atmosphere felt “off the charts.” Jenn agreed that leaving felt more comfortable than staying. The pair ultimately packed their bags and took an Uber back to Orange County, while Shannon remained at the house.
Gunvalson said she did not expect Emily and Jenn to leave. She tried to persuade them to stay before accepting their decision. The OG later said she felt disappointed because she had spent time and money preparing for the visit.
The moment came during a milestone season for Gunvalson, who returned as a full-time Housewife after years of guest appearances. Her RHOC comeback has already generated discussion about how much of her personal life she wants to share on camera.
For Gunvalson, though, the request was about ending filming for the night. Emily and Jenn made the separate decision to leave the house entirely.
