Prince Harry has received a warning about expanding his charity work after returning to Britain. The warning comes amid renewed attention around the feud between the brothers and the Sussexes’ royal status. It follows Uganda’s withdrawal from the 2027 Invictus Games.

Uganda initially pulled out after General Muhoozi Kainerugaba said the country wanted to avoid appearing opposed to King Charles. Uganda later reversed the decision after talks with the King’s representatives. Meanwhile, King Charles recently issued a formal letter. The statement clarified that Harry and Meghan Markle remain private citizens and non-working royals.
Royal expert Robert Jobson, author of “The Windsor Legacy”, said Harry should avoid adding charities. “Very few new avenues are open to him, and he would be wise not to go looking,” Jobson told the Express. “The routes already open to him are the Invictus Games, WellChild and the charities he is already attached to.”
Jobson added that expanding his charity work now “would be a mistake.” “It would look like a man, who insists he is a private person, bidding for a role he has just been told very clearly in writing he does not have,” he said.
Another royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, also urged the Sussexes to avoid actions that could create fresh headlines during their UK return. He argued that their presence already attracts significant attention.
“All the interest in what they will do next distracts from the actual business of royalty, from their work, because their return to the UK has knocked the other royals off the front pages,” Fitzwilliams explained.
Harry’s established charitable commitments include Invictus and WellChild. The Prince Harry Prince William feud remains a major point of public interest.
Royal correspondent Simon Vigar said Harry should focus on rebuilding bridges with Charles and William. He also noted a possible Netflix documentary about Princess Diana as one potential future project for Harry in future too.
However, Jobson’s warning centers on how Harry presents his public role. When discussing Prince William’s reign, experts have also pointed to the limits Harry may face as the monarchy moves forward.
