Andy Cohen Sticks Up for Vicki Gunvalson as RHUGT Criticism Mounts

Andy Cohen is pushing back as Vicki Gunvalson faces mounting criticism over her behavior on RHUGT: Roaring 20th. The Bravo boss appears to think viewers should consider more context before judging the RHOC veteran’s Atlanta appearance. The backlash centered on Vicki Gunvalson repeatedly saying she felt “uncomfortable” during the Atlanta stop. However, Andy Cohen has now stepped in with a more sympathetic take.

During a recent YouTube discussion, Andy Cohen defended Vicki Gunvalson while addressing the criticism surrounding her time in Atlanta. He pushed back on some of the assumptions surrounding her reaction.

Vicki Gunvalson had already explained that she felt insecure at the Alter Ego party. She disliked her Jackie O-inspired outfit and said she felt unattractive. She also believed the other women already had their own groups.

Her explanation followed strong online criticism. Comedian Dustin Ross questioned why Vicki Gunvalson felt uncomfortable in Atlanta, particularly at an event centered on RHOA personalities.

Tamra Judge also criticized her longtime friend’s RHUGT behavior. She argued that Vicki Gunvalson left the party early and failed to make enough effort with the group.

Vicki Gunvalson, meanwhile, explained her discomfort differently. She said she simply felt out of place and wanted to return to the hotel. The Atlanta episodes have become a major part of RHUGT: Roaring 20th. The anniversary series brought back several familiar faces, including NeNe Leakes, to celebrate 20 years of Housewives.

Vicki Gunvalson represents The Real Housewives of Orange County on the cross-country trip. She has also returned to RHOC for its milestone 20th season.

Andy Cohen has a long history with Vicki Gunvalson, who helped launch the Housewives franchise in 2006. Their relationship has included disagreements, jokes and plenty of on-camera tension.

Still, his latest comments show he is not joining every wave of criticism aimed at her. Instead, Andy Cohen appears willing to separate one uncomfortable night from broader assumptions about Vicki Gunvalson’s intentions.

Whether viewers agree is another matter. For now, Vicki Gunvalson remains one of RHUGT’s most polarizing figures, while Andy Cohen is offering some public backup.
