Mark Curry claims he received $69 and no promised production credit for 50 Cent’s Diddy documentary
Mark Curry appeared in documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning and called out 50 Cent following its Emmy Win. The Netflix documentary won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program. Following the award, Curry called out 50 Cent, saying he was promised a production credit.
Curry said, “I was the one who put that thing together. I was promised a production credit, and the production credit said that even if the documentary was sold, I would be grandfathered into the deal because I helped produce that whole documentary.”
Curry continued, “I saw where 50 [Cent] was like, ‘The proceeds would go towards the victims.’ I haven’t seen that yet. Nothing really came about. I was like, ‘This right here is worse than any deal… You talk about a deal with Puff; this is a worse deal than the worst deal.” According to hot new hiphop, Curry believed that this documentary’s credit could have changed his story.
The Bad Boy Records rapper added that if they had proper license for “Come With Me,” he would have earned music royalties every time it was viewed. He added, “Had I had sync license on it, which I thought we would have in place, then I would’ve made some money off of this Godzilla song, ‘Come With Me.’ Man, I made $69 off of that song because they didn’t have a sync license.”
50 Cent celebrated the Emmy win on Instagram. He shared the post with the caption, “I won an Emmy; still think I’m taking a L ?or you changed your mind. ??? GLG?GreenLightGang we don’t miss ? @50centaction.”
The rapper Mark Curry served as an insider and key contributor in the documentary about Diddy Combs.
