The judge stepped in to stop funds from leaving D’Wayne Wiggins’ estate
D’Wayne Wiggins’ estate faces a restriction amid the singer’s family battle in court. According to court documents by TMZ, the judge has ordered a temporary restriction on funds. The estate is prohibited from sending money to any third party, including donations to the singer’s foundation, scholarships, and other grants.
Wiggins’ daughter, Ilahn Wiggins, said the singer had a $700k estate that Savannah claimed to be in charge of.
Veleta Savannah, D’Wayne Wiggins’ cousin who claims to be in charge of his estate, has challenged the decision in the documents. Savannah claims that Wiggins was checked by a doctor during his last hours; he was conscious and capable enough to manage his estate and direct people around him to manage it after his death.
Savannah also claims that the singer did not need support for managing his finances and his life. She added that Wiggins executed a new will before his death. However, Wiggins’ family members object to Savannah’s claims regarding the singer’s will and last hours. They alleged that Wiggins was under heavy medication and was not able to make decisions.
The family has refused to accept Savannah’s claims that the singer signed his will a few hours before his death under the influence.
However, Savannah denied the family’s claims that the singer was under the influence. She maintains that he chose not to include his kids in the will.
Ilahn Wiggins and her siblings Dylan and Jaden have filed in court, claiming that they were wrongfully disinherited. Savannah continues to push back against these claims.
The latest order by the court to stop the fund transfer has added another layer to the ongoing battle.
