So, during a recent appearance on Today with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones asked the 62-year-old about her love life. In response, Hoda Kotb shared a story that sounded straight out of a romantic comedy.
Hoda said, “Well, here’s the thing, this is not a real love connection. I did meet someone on a plane when I was flying somewhere.”
Sheinelle reacted with excitement, calling the story romantic and asking, “Should we try to find him?” The American broadcaster then revealed that the mystery traveler was still nameless, leaving her in disbelief.
Kotb said, “It was the weirdest connection in the world. We were both crying. It was strange. You know, when you have one of those (conversations where) everything is firing on all cylinders?”
“He kept saying, ‘Is this a dream? Is this real?’ Our company went to Cannes so we could talk about our company, and he was in the audience, randomly,” she added.
Hoda went on to explain how the two exchanged a simple “hi” when they crossed paths again, but the romantic-comedy story ended rather abruptly.
As for the NBC anchor’s past relationships, Hoda Kotb was previously married to University of New Orleans tennis coach Burzis Kanga. The couple tied the knot in 2005, but their marriage ended in divorce in 2008.
Years later, Kotb met New York financier Joel Schiffman in 2013, and the two began dating in 2015. After several years together, they got engaged in 2019 and adopted two daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine. However, the former couple announced their split in early 2022.
