Emily Simpson, a reality TV star known for appearing on The Real Housewives of Orange County, is dealing with some big changes at home. The mother of three shares daughter Annabelle, 13, and 11-year-old twin sons Luke and Keller with her husband, Shane Simpson.
Emily and Shane Simpson make a major bedroom change as tension grows at home
Now, the family is trying to make life at home a little easier. In an episode of RHOC Season 20, Emily and Shane shared that they changed their children’s sleeping arrangements. First, Annabelle Simpson moved into a new bedroom downstairs. Meanwhile, Luke Simpson and Keller Simpson got separate bedrooms that share a bathroom.
Emily said in a confessional, “The situation with Luke and Keller in the same room does not work.” She also said, “Over the past year, Keller has been acting out.” According to Emily, things had become especially difficult at night. She said arguments between the brothers often made bedtime stressful for everyone. “Nighttime at our house has been a nightmare.” She then explained that Luke would often experience severe anxiety when it was time for bed. As a result, getting him to sleep could take a long time.
Meanwhile, Keller would get “mad” during these situations. Eventually, the stress also left Emily and Shane feeling “frustrated” with each other.
The RHOC star has previously discussed Luke’s health struggles and his evolving diagnoses. Because he needed extra attention, she believes his siblings may have developed some resentment. Annabelle, however, was not happy about moving downstairs. Emily said, “When Annabelle found out that she was going to have a new room, but she was moving downstairs, she was not happy.” Still, she liked the vanity in her new room.
At the same time, the family’s struggles have also affected Emily and Shane’s marriage. The couple has disagreed over how to parent their children. “It’s had drastic effects on our marriage,” Emily told a producer.
Still, Emily has noticed some progress with Luke. She said changing his school had made the biggest difference in his behavior. For now, the family is taking things one day at a time as everyone adjusts to their new routine.
