Flowers, who is set to release his third solo album, Thrasher, on August 21, recently spoke about what lies ahead for him in an interview with The Times. The 45-year-old Utah resident, who shares three sons with his wife, Tana, said, “My dad goes to yard sales, where he buys frames to take home and paint. He’s never had any money in his life, and he’s happier than I am.”
Speaking to the outlet, Flowers said he has been reflecting on his future. “I’m really going through it right now: how much longer do I want to do this, what does it mean, why am I doing it anyway?” he said. Flowers was 20 years old when he formed the band. He has since remained active in the music industry for more than two decades.
The singer explained that he becomes ill after every tour and has often questioned what drives Mick Jagger to continue performing. He said the powerful experience of playing live makes it hard for him to step away from music.
Despite his uncertainty, the frontman, who founded The Killers in 2001 in Las Vegas, will embark on a road tour. To promote Thrasher, Flowers will launch a fall tour on September 1 with an opening show at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona, reports Billboard. The North American leg of the tour is set to wrap up on October 6 at the Encore Theater at Wynn in Las Vegas.
