The Arizona sheriff, who has led the Nancy Guthrie abduction investigation from the beginning, remains hopeful about the case’s outcome nearly six months after she was abducted from her Tucson home. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he is “positive” that law enforcement will find answers and resolve the case.

The statement came after Savannah shared an emotional video on July 27, asking her mother’s abductors to reveal Nancy’s location. “I’m asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Help us find her – tell us where to look for her,” she said.
The daughter said it has been months since her mother was taken and that her family is still suffering. She said they had done everything they could and would continue searching for Nancy. She asked those responsible to help bring her mother home. Adding, as quoted by BBC, “For all of us, no matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”
In an interview that aired on the Today Show on July 28, Nanos said authorities have a significant amount of DNA and video evidence to review. He explained, as quoted by People, “We have so much DNA to sort through. We have so much in terms of video evidence to look at.” Nanos added, “I’m still positive that we’re gonna resolve this case.”
The mother of the Today Show anchor has been missing for more than 164 days. The 84-year-old was last seen on the night of January 31 after arriving home from dining with family in the Catalina Foothills, Arizona. Surveillance footage from her home showed a masked individual, and authorities discovered her blood at the location. No suspect has been identified yet. According to the BBC, the family has offered a $1 million reward for information, alongside a $100,000 reward from the FBI.
