Donald Trump Says Iran Will ‘Pay Many Times Over’ in Threatening Truth Social Post

President Donald Trump issued a direct warning to Iran on Truth Social. He said Iran would “pay for the killings many times over!” The post came after the Pentagon confirmed three U.S. troop deaths amid the escalating Middle East conflict.

Trump took to Truth Social on Monday, July 20. He declared that Iran would face severe consequences for every U.S. service member killed in the ongoing war. “Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay for that killing many times over!”

Trump further added: “This directive has been passed on to Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Daniel Caine, and every Leader in the Military.” His remarks made clear his support for the U.S. military.

The remarks came just days after U.S. Central Command confirmed two U.S military troops were killed in action in Jordan on July 17. Reports also indicated that a third American service member was missing. This followed an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack targeting U.S. and partner forces in the region.

The Pentagon identified the two U.S. military personnel killed as 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas. They were deployed in support of the U.S. mission against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Trump didn’t stop at his military threat. In a separate Truth Social post, he aimed at critics of the war effort and wrote: “The only ones that should be arrested are the people that led Iran into this unprecedented SPIRAL OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION.”

The U.S. military has confirmed the American death toll in the war has now climbed to 17.
