Ex-Prince Andrew made his first public appearance of 2026. The disgraced former Duke of York, who was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, was seen at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials with Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie.
Andrew makes his first public appearance since his February arrest at a Sandringham estate event with Prince Edward and Sophie
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor left the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials, created by Prince Philip in 1982, in his Land Rover Defender, as Prince Edward was spotted cheering on Sophie during the competition.
The Sun reported that Andrew, who was spotted wearing a light blue shirt and sunglasses, remained discreet during the Duchess of Edinburgh’s morning competition and departed soon after she completed her event. Andrew is thought to have offered his support from among the crowds, watching from a quiet, tree-lined area away from the main arena.
An onlooker told the outlet, “Andrew sneaked in and sneaked out and definitely didn’t want to be seen. But I saw Andrew leave the field at 10.30 am, just after Sophie had ridden her round, then I saw Edward walking towards his car, smiling shortly afterwards.” TOWN&COUNTRY states that Andrew is currently based at Marsh Farm, a five-bedroom house on the Sandringham Estate.
In January 2026, the US Justice Department released multiple photographs from the Epstein files. One appeared to show the former Duke of York kneeling on all fours over a female lying on the ground, as per reports by the BBC. He is also accused of raping Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent survivors of Epstein’s sexual abuse, when she was a minor, reports ABC.
Andrew, who was stripped of his titles last year over his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested in February 2026. It marked the first time the former prince was arrested over his links to Epstein, but he was soon released. He denies all allegations.
