Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly climbed up President Donald Trump’s list of favourite tech billionaires, replacing Elon Musk.
Entertainment columnist Rob Shuter notes that Zuckerberg may have cracked the code to get Trump on his side, while Musk has refused to play nice with the president.

Sources have told Rob Shuter that the relationship between Zuckerberg and Trump has evolved quite dramatically, and the two are now close friends. What was once a careful and tactical alliance is now a full-blown camaraderie.
Sources have commented that Trump and Zuckerberg “speak regularly,” and “Trump genuinely enjoys hearing from him. There’s real chemistry between them.”
Insiders also confirm that Zuckerberg may have realised something powerful about communicating with the president, something that others, including Musk, have missed. “He makes Trump feel respected, valued, and appreciated. That’s a skill a lot of people underestimate,” a source noted.
Contrary to Musk’s disinterest in “flattering anyone” and his ethic of being “fiercely independent” without the need to “seek approval from politicians—or anyone else.” Zuckerberg has truly invested in the relationship and thereby grown close to Trump, as reported by Shuter’s sources.
The once noticeable Trump-Musk relationship reportedly cooled down over policy disagreements and intense public criticism. The SpaceX and Tesla founder was once one of the most vocal supporters of the president until a social media war of words tore them apart. Musk openly criticised the Trump administration on spending and legislation, upon which Trump lashed back on social media, turning the friendship into a very public feud.
Against this context, Zuckerberg’s measured approach towards the president, augmented by his careful appreciation of him as a leader, has strengthened his standing and easily replaced the void left by Musk.
