Donald Trump recently took a jibe at Elon Musk at a rally in Arizona. He made the remark while slamming Democratic governor Katie Hobbs. The President held the rally in support of Republican Congressman Andy Biggs, who is running against Hobbs for governor.
Donald Trump described Elon Musk while criticizing Katie Hobbs
Donald Trump was in Arizona on Wednesday, October 14, for a rally supporting Republican Andy Biggs when he took a swipe at tech mogul Elon Musk. While addressing the crowd, Trump decided to call out Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs and went on to describe her as “dumb.” He then compared the governor to Tesla CEO Musk, suggesting he is smarter than the Democrat.
He said, “First of all, she’s a dumb person. You ever see her? I know smart people … from Elon down to [Hobbs], I figure there’s a big gap.” Trump shared his take on Musk with the crowd and said, “Elon’s 80 percent super genius, and 20 percent — he got a little problem, I always tell him. No, he’s a great guy though.” (via The Hill)
Trump’s remarks about Musk became a hot topic on social media as the duo was engaged in a major public feud in June 2025. The fallout happened after Musk ended his work under the Trump administration as part of DOGE. Musk then criticized Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
In one of his statements, he also alleged that the DOJ was trying to protect Trump by hiding some of the Epstein files. However, the two reconciled IN September 2025. According to a report by The New York Times, Musk has spent roughly $366 million on the 2026 midterm elections to help Republicans retain control of Congress. During the 2024 presidential election, he spent around $300 million backing Trump’s bid for re-election.
