Naomi Watts had the perfect response when Kim Kardashian said she could “hide behind” her All’s Fair costars. The actress clapped back at her costar’s humble admission during a joint appearance on The View to promote the show’s second season.
Naomi Watts responds as Kim Kardashian says she could hide behind other actors
Naomi Watts pushed back on Kim Kardashian’s claim that she could “hide behind” her co-stars on All’s Fair. Kardashian made the admission during a Thursday appearance on The View alongside Watts and Niecy Nash-Betts. The trio appeared to promote the show’s second season on Hulu.
Kardashian said creator Ryan Murphy was “setting me up for success by surrounding me with the best of the best actors.” She added that she “could, you know, hide behind” her castmates “if I needed to, because they’re so amazing.” The reality star acknowledged Murphy was intentional in casting her amid acting heavyweights.
Watts quickly shut down that suggestion. “You did not hide, girl!” the Oscar-nominated actress responded. She then praised Kardashian’s improvement, saying her co-star “grew and expanded in extraordinary ways.” Watts also revealed that Kardashian “was ad-libbing” on set during Season 2.
Nash-Betts echoed that support with her own encouragement. “Season 2? You brought your A-game, baby!” the Emmy winner said. She added, “We were all so impressed with you and so proud of you.” View moderator Whoopi Goldberg also weighed in on Kardashian’s journey as an actress.
Goldberg said Kardashian has “battled to get seen in the right way.” She noted Kardashian did not want people thinking she was “that other thing.” Watts also addressed the negative reception the first season received from critics. She said conflicting opinions did not affect the cast’s bond on set.
“We were such a good, powerful group of friends that it didn’t matter,” Watts stated. All’s Fair Season 1 earned a zero percent score on Rotten Tomatoes upon its debut. However, it became Hulu’s most-watched scripted series debut in three years.
The show’s second season premiered on Hulu on November 4, 2026.
