The Dupont twins have reportedly defended their former boss, Martha Stewart, amid the criticism over her Halloween costume. As reported by Page Six, one of the Dupont twins, Richard Dupont, told them that the businesswoman has always shown a lot of care for those who are less fortunate, while defending her after the backlash. The businesswoman’s ex-employee recalled, “I remember going quite often with her, catering events in the city, and she’d always drop off leftover food [to the homeless] — always! I remember that about her and I always liked that … We all followed her lead.”

Per the news outlet, Richard Dupont further called his former boss a “wonderful person.” According to the former employee, she has always been “good” to him, adding that he believed that it was his “duty” to defend her.

Richard Dupont’s brother, Robert Dupont, also went on to defend Martha Stewart. He took to Instagram to write, “I am writing this because I feel I have a moral obligation to share a side of my friend and former employer Martha Stewart that the public isn’t seeing right now.”

He continued, “I know firsthand that Martha has spent years quietly and consistently showing deep empathy for the unhoused community in New York City for a longtime, after ever [sic] single catering event we did, she made it a strict point to pack up all the extra, high quality food.”
