Kim Kardashian recently spoke about the criticism surrounding her Hulu series All’s Fair and the attention it has received since its debut. Despite negative reviews, the legal drama has attracted a significant audience, prompting discussion about the show’s success.
Kim Kardashian on All’s Fair becoming a successful Hulu series
Kim Kardashian has discussed the unexpected success of All’s Fair, arguing that a television series can find an audience without earning praise from critics. In a recent interview with Variety, she reflected on the Hulu drama’s performance following the negative reviews it received after its premiere.
During the interview, Kardashian was asked what the show’s success might reveal about the role controversy can play in a project’s publicity. She responded, “I think history has proven that controversy can create success. But I think it just shows that you could make something just for the watchers and for the fans to enjoy themselves. It doesn’t have to be critically acclaimed.” Her co-star Sarah Paulson also weighed in on the subject, saying, “Not everything has to be an opportunity for some awards celebration.”
Hulu renewed the series less than a month after its debut, highlighting its early streaming performance. However, the response among critics was considerably less favorable. The first season currently holds a 6 percent score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes from 34 reviews. Meanwhile, its audience score is significantly stronger at 65 percent.
The series follows Allura Grant, played by Kardashian, who leaves a male-dominated law firm to establish her own practice with a group of female colleagues. The new firm brings together Liberty, Emerald, Milan, Carr, and Dina as they build their legal careers outside their former workplace.
Created by Ryan Murphy, All’s Fair will continue with a second season, which is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on November 4, 2026.
