Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff Choose Divorce Over Drama — Report

Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have officially begun the process of ending their marriage. The former couple reportedly separated months before filing their divorce paperwork, with their representatives describing the decision as mutual and emphasizing their continued respect for one another.

Margaret and Jack’s marriage ended before the official filing

On October 30, a source close to the couple confirmed their joint divorce filing to People. They married in August 2023 after beginning their relationship in 2021. “Jack and Margaret are filing for divorce jointly,” the source said. “This is a mutual decision,” they added.

The source also emphasized that their relationship remained respectful. “They share a deep affinity and love for one another,” the insider said. They added that the former partners would “absolutely be lifelong friends.”

News of their split first emerged in July. At the time, a representative for the couple pushed back against speculation surrounding their relationship.

“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue,” the representative said. They specifically denied claims involving trust issues or infidelity and emphasized that their relationship had involved “respect and partnership.”

“They have deep love and care for one another,” the representative added. Moreover, they asked outsiders to respect the couple’s privacy, stressing that people commenting publicly did not know the details of their relationship.

Meanwhile, Antonoff recently discussed performing songs inspired by his relationship with Qualley. His band Bleachers released Everyone for Ten Minutes in May, with several tracks connected to their time together.

Antonoff earlier admitted he considered changing his setlist in an interview with The Guardian. He ultimately decided against removing the personal songs. “I don’t rewrite the past, I have no shame about the things I’ve said,” he explained.

He also described performing those songs after their breakup as “really beautiful.” Antonoff said sharing those emotions with audiences had become meaningful. “I would rather live through something publicly than even escape it privately,” he added.

The couple’s joint filing formally begins the legal process of ending their marriage. Based on statements from sources and representatives, Qualley and Antonoff appear to be approaching the split privately and without publicly trading accusations.
