An expert has labeled Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as “rogue royals,” claiming that they believe they have “nothing to say sorry for.” While many had hoped that the strained relationship between the Sussexes and the other members of the royal family would improve following their return to the U.K., the reality appears to be far from what was expected.
Expert claims Meghan Markle and Prince Harry think ‘they deserve an apology’
Royal expert Emily Andrews claims that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry believe the royal family should apologize to them. As reported by Woman & Home, the couple, despite no longer being working royals, continue to make public appearances that resemble official royal engagements.
Andrews noted that while the Sussexes want to retain their royal status, they also want to do things their own way. As such, she called them “rogue royals.” She referred to Harry and Meghan’s recent appearance in Nottingham, noting that although they had reportedly received a letter on behalf of King Charles stating that they are “private citizens,” they still proceeded with the outing on their own terms.
The expert further shed light on Megxit, which took place in 2020 and strained relations within the royal family. Andrews added that it was not just the couple’s departure that soured the relationship, but also the allegations that followed.
Harry and Meghan spoke in depth about how they were allegedly mistreated behind palace walls and felt unsupported in interviews, their Oprah documentary, and Harry’s memoir, “Spare.” These allegations further deepened the rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
Despite everything that has happened, Andrews said that a friend of Team Sussex had told her that the couple believe they do not owe anyone an apology. The royal expert stated, “They’re not going to apologise, they have absolutely nothing to say sorry for.”
She added that she had been told the Sussexes believe they are the ones who deserve an apology for the way they were treated. Andrews also shared her perspective, suggesting that the couple behave as though the past six years never happened and that they have not played their own part in hurting their family.
