An expert claimed that King Charles and the royal family may remain out of the legal drama surrounding Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr. She said that the monarch and Prince William will continue to fulfill their royal responsibilities and may not get involved in such matters. For those unversed, Prince Harry’s father-in-law is accused of possessing child pornography photos found at his Philippines home.
Experts explain why the Palace is unlikely to intervene publicly
Royal reporter Andrea Caamano told Page Six that she doesn’t think that the royal family will become involved in the situation concerning Thomas Markle Sr. “Despite Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK, relations remain complicated, and I don’t see the Palace wanting to become involved in matters concerning Meghan’s father,” she added.
She further stated that the monarch has a lot on his plate at the moment. King Charles has just begun his nine-day Caribbean tour. Meanwhile, Prince William would also be busy this month. He is set to come to India for the Earthshot Prize Awards. Therefore, Camano mentioned that Charles and William are unlikely to intervene publicly on legal matters involving Meghan Markle’s father.
This update comes after another royal expert, Kinsey Schofield, claimed that Charles may likely distance himself from Prince Harry and Meghan in the wake of the disturbing allegations against Thomas Sr. She added that it makes sense for the royal family not to get involved. This is because the legal matter concerns private individuals and not them.
Schofield said that, therefore, she sees no need for them to defend or explain themselves. “The Sussexes are private citizens, and perhaps it’s time the Palace made that separation unmistakably clear,” the royal expert added. Recently, it’s been reported that Meghan, Harry, and their kids have left the UK to spend some time overseas.
