Prince William joked that he tried to keep Travis Kelce out of the family picture with Taylor Swift. The Prince of Wales also revealed whether he was aware of the photo’s significance. The image in question was taken during Swift’s Eras Tour in July 2024, a year after Kelce and Swift officially began dating.

In a recent conversation at The Graham Norton Show, Prince William recalled the backstage photo taken of Taylor Swift and their family during the Eras Tour at London’s Wembley Stadium. The photo also included Travis Kelce in the corner, whom the future king jokingly said he didn’t want to be there.
William made this revelation when the host asked whether he was aware of the significance of that viral photo. To this, William responded, “I wasn’t until recently. I hadn’t appreciated the significance — and actually, I was trying to move him out of the photo.” Hearing his answer, the crowd burst into laughter.
William further claimed that Kelce kept coming back into the picture. However, he had no idea as to why he wanted to be a part of the photo. “I was trying to move him out of the photo… so it was just me and Taylor and the children,” he joked.
For those unfamiliar, this particular photo included royal family members, William, his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, alongside Swift and Kelce. This specific photo was shared by Swift on her Instagram to wish the Prince of Wales a happy 42nd birthday. She wrote in the caption, “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”
This was the first time Kelce made an appearance on Swift’s Instagram grid. The singer and NFL star got engaged in August 2025 and tied the knot this year at Madison Square Garden.
