Donald Trump Blasts Space Jam Star as ‘Total Disgrace’ Over National Anthem Antics

Donald Trump has aimed another major A-lister for “disrespecting” the national anthem. The POTUS took to social media demanding an apology.

Trump made a Truth Social post on Thursday, calling out LeBron James for doing a golf swing motion during the national anthem at Tuesday night’s NBA opener between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks.

“While listening to our National Anthem, LeBron James disrespects our Country! I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE,” Trump fumed in his post. The president also reshared the viral video which captured James’ antics as “The Star-Spangled Banner” played in the background.

Donald Trump demands an apology from LeBron James

After rebuking James for his viral antics during the national anthem, Trump demanded an apology from the star forward. “LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for!” the POTUS added in the post.

This isn’t the first time Trump has lashed out at James. The NBA icon and Space Jam: A New Legacy star previously drew Trump’s ire after campaigning for Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election and has continued to support his Democratic opponents. In July, Trump called James “racist,” adding that he preferred Michael Jordan over him.

“Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine. Play golf with him. He’s a really good guy,” the POTUS said. “I think LeBron is – maybe he’s a racist. Maybe he doesn’t like Trump. But I only like people that like me. So I would say Michael Jordan all the way.”

Trump has also criticized other athletes in the past for not behaving in a way he deemed fit during the national anthem. In 2017, he lashed out at Colin Kaepernick and other players who took the knee during the national anthem in protest against racial injustice.
