‘Heated Rivalry’ Takes Steamy Romance to Whole New Level Before Season 2

Heated Rivalry is bringing its steamy hockey romance to the big screen before its second season arrives. Fans will get a limited chance to revisit the show’s first season in theaters across North America and beyond.

The theatrical event will run from November 6 through November 30. Regal Cinemas and Sphere Abacus will screen all six episodes in three pairs, giving fans another chance to experience the romance together.

According to TheWrap, each two-episode screening will cost $9.99. More than 650 theaters will participate in the event. Pre-sale tickets are already available, and the screenings will feature welcome messages from the cast and crew.

The event will also offer two specialty cocktails inspired by the series. Their names, “Summer in Montreal” and “Russians Don’t Blush,” nod to the show’s central romance and its hockey rivals.

Regal’s senior vice president of U.S. content, Brooks LeBoeuf, explained the decision in a statement. “When a series connects with audiences the way ‘Heated Rivalry’ has, we look for ways to bring it to the big screen and give fans a reason to experience it together,” he said.

LeBoeuf added that the theatrical release would celebrate the show’s creators and performances before Season 2 arrives in 2027.

Sphere Abacus executive Hana Palmer also called the series a “global phenomenon.” She noted its strong social media presence and press attention. The screenings will reach audiences in North America, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

The Canadian series became an international hit last winter. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie became household names through their performances. Creator Jacob Tierney adapted the story from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels.

The show’s romance between rival hockey players helped it find a passionate audience. It also became one of HBO Max’s biggest television acquisitions ever. Crave originally carried the series in Canada, while HBO Max brought it to U.S. audiences.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer for more drama. Heated Rivalry Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Crave and HBO Max in spring 2027. Until then, the theatrical screenings offer a steamy return to the beginning.
