Andy Cohen is taking fans behind the scenes of one of reality television’s biggest franchises. The Bravo host is celebrating 20 years of The Real Housewives with a new book. He promises readers a closer look at reunions and the moments that shaped the shows.
Andy Cohen promises behind-the-scenes reunion revelations in his new Bravo book
Titled Andy’s Bravo Scrapbook: Twenty Years Behind the Scenes of the Real Housewives and the Bravoverse, the book features photos from Cohen’s personal archive. It also explores two decades of cast drama, reunions, and unexpected developments. The book arrives October 20.
Speaking to Page Six, Cohen explained what readers could expect from the project. “The great thing about the book is I take you behind the scenes of pretty [much] every reunion show we’ve ever done,” he shared. He also revealed that he discusses what he was thinking before those pivotal events.
Some reunions reportedly changed the direction of the franchise. Cohen recalled situations where producers expected someone’s departure, only for that person to impress everyone during the reunion. Other cast members unexpectedly became isolated from their groups.
“They really can determine a lot in terms of the future of the show,” Cohen said about reunions. His comments suggest those episodes can influence more than just the season’s final storyline. They can also shape what happens to cast members afterward.
The Bravo executive also discussed which Housewives secrets and franchises remain especially meaningful to him. Although he does not have favorites, he admitted two shows hold a special place in his heart.
“I will say New York and Atlanta have always been kind of close to my heart,” Cohen told the outlet. He declined to identify individual cast members he particularly favors. He explained that the ensemble format allows different personalities to take center stage across seasons.
Cohen also pushed back against criticism that the franchise rewards conflict. “I think that’s an over-generalization,” he said, arguing that the shows offer more than arguments. He pointed to the possibility of sisterhood and the varied relationships that keep viewers invested.
Reflecting on the franchise’s success, Cohen called his involvement “a gift.” His new Andy Cohen Book offers fans a chance to revisit the personalities and behind-the-scenes decisions behind the phenomenon. Andy’s Bravo Scrapbook hits stores October 20.
