Grande announced Coco’s death in an emotional Instagram post. “sweetest, most amazing and most beautiful coco … i am so proud of you,” she wrote. She also expressed gratitude for having Coco by her side for more than 17 years.
“thank you for your love, and for blessing this planet with your physical presence for over seventeen wonderful years,” Grande added.
The singer continued her tribute by describing the happiness Coco brought to those around her. “you make everywhere you go a more beautiful place,” she wrote.
Grande also shared how much she would miss her beloved pet. “i will miss you every day and hold you in my heart always. i love you so, sweet girl,” she said.
Coco was Grande’s first rescue dog and reportedly a mix of Dachshund and German Shepherd. Her death marks the end of a bond that lasted more than 17 years.
Grande has long spoken publicly about her love for animals and support for dog rescue efforts. In 2015, she participated in a campaign to help homeless dogs find homes.
At the time, Grande explained why animal rescue mattered so much to her. “I got involved with dog rescues by simply loving animals,” she said. She also called dogs “the most harmless, sweetest babes in the world” and praised the unconditional love they offer.
Grande’s tribute to Coco reflects the deep love she has long expressed for animals and the lasting place her first rescue dog held in her life.
