Sahara Ray, the model and swimwear designer who once made headlines for her relationship with Justin Bieber, has died at 34. Her death comes months after she welcomed her daughter, Snow. Ray had kept the identity of her daughter’s father out of the public eye.
Sahara Ray’s family confirms model’s death at 34 as cause remains unknown
Ray’s family confirmed her death to TMZ on October 19. “She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved,” the family shared. Her cause of death has not been confirmed.
Her final Instagram post featured her daughter, Snow, who was born in January. Ray shared the post on July 19 and wrote, “My whole heart baby Snow.” TMZ also reported that the post was her final Instagram grid post before her death.
In April, the Australian model also posted a video of herself playing with her three-month-old daughter. The video featured Justin Bieber’s 2025 song “Everything Hallelujah.”
In 2024, Ray shared that she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare disorder in which the immune system attacks the nerves. Following a car accident in April 2024, she experienced partial paralysis and briefly used a wheelchair. She spoke about her condition in a TikTok video soon after the accident, according to 7News.
Ray revealed that she was primarily wheelchair-bound and needed a walker to move around. She added that she could “barely walk” with the walker. She said, “This is really hard to deal with, I’ve been trying to keep a good attitude and be hopeful that my feeling comes back, but there’s always a chance it just stays like this.”
Ray first attracted widespread attention for her reported romance with Justin Bieber in 2016. The daughter of surfer Tony Ray and Bieber were spotted vacationing in Hawaii and reportedly went skinny-dipping during the trip. Their romance was brief, and neither Bieber nor Ray officially addressed the relationship’s status.
Ray was also previously linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson. She was later romantically linked to Mod Sun in 2023.
