Meghan Markle has shared a surprising connection between her daughter, Princess Lilibet, and her cousin, Princess Charlotte. The Duchess of Sussex said that her daughter loves gymnastics. Reports have previously confirmed that Princess Charlotte, too, shares the same hobby.
Meghan Markle says Princess Lilibet loves gymnastics, a hobby shared by Princess Charlotte
According to People, Markle shared the insight while speaking to children during a confidence-building workshop at Community Recording Studio (CRS). The institution aims to help children access music and recording facilities.
Markle joined children aged 10 and 11 who were making friendship bracelets and sharing activities that they felt good about. When one of them mentioned gymnastics, she enthusiastically spoke of daughter Princess Lilibet. “My daughter’s doing gymnastics right now. She loves it,” she quipped.
Meghan and Harry, 42, share two children: Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. The couple has visited other charitable institutions on their Nottingham trip.
During the workshop, Markle explained the importance of practicing self-compassion even at a young age. She said, “Sometimes you have to remember to be kind to yourself. And remember to talk to ourselves as we talk to our best friends.” Markle also proceeded to give each child a handwritten card with inspirational words that would help them develop self-love.
Markle’s conduct at the event impressed workshop host Georgia Devon-Shelley. She praised her, saying, “She was really engaging and incredibly kind and genuine. With anyone she met, even briefly in passing, she remembered their names.”
Lilibet is in company with Princess Charlotte in her love for gymnastics. Prince William had previously disclosed his daughter’s interest in sports while attending the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with Kate Middleton and their children.
During the event, William met Welsh gymnasts Abigail and Emily Roper. According to The Telegraph, he mentioned that Charlotte “loves gymnastics and ballet.”
Understandably, the royal couple is proud of their daughter’s preferences. During the 2022 Commonwealth Games, SportsAid chief executive Tim Lawler recalled that she had identified gymnastics as her favorite sport. Mother Kate Middleton also said that Charlotte “spends most of her time upside-down, doing handstands and cartwheels.”
