Paul Anderson, who played Arthur Shelby Jr. on “Peaky Blinders,” was spotted counting cash on a London street. The sighting comes after the actor did not appear in Netflix’s “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.” Reports also indicate that Anderson has faced personal and legal struggles in recent years.
Paul Anderson spotted counting cash in London after Peaky Blinders movie absence
According to the Daily Mail, the actor was spotted counting a wad of cash while carrying a Pret bag and running errands on his electric bike. He wore a sage-green bomber jacket, cropped trousers and orange socks, pairing the look with Vans trainers and sunglasses.
Anderson did not reprise his role of Arthur Shelby Jr. alongside Cillian Murphy in the Peaky Blinders movie. At the same time, he was also dealing with difficulties in his personal life.
In 2023, Anderson was found in a pub toilet with cocaine and amphetamines. The actor pleaded guilty to drug possession the following year. It later emerged that Anderson had failed a drug test that month, with traces of cocaine and opiates reportedly found in his blood.
Anderson also faced court proceedings after allegedly missing a meeting with a social worker to assess his drug use. An arrest warrant was issued but later revoked after authorities were unable to locate him. He also appeared to have moved out of his £1.2 million Hampstead Heath home. The actor had reportedly turned to £150 Cameo messages and paid appearances as acting opportunities became less frequent.
Anderson previously shared a video message about his personal struggles and urged others going through difficult periods to seek help.
“Just like you, search inside. Find it for yourself, overcome the struggles, the tribulations, the pain that you are feeling. There is no story without struggle…”
He also acknowledged his own ongoing challenges, saying, “Take it from me: I have struggled and I struggle today, the same way you do.”
In response to the Daily Mail’s report, we received a statement.
