Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Don’t See UK as Long-Term Home — Source

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly weighing where they want to settle next. The UK is said to be important to the family for now, but their plans may extend beyond Britain. Publications have speculated that Australia is emerging as a possible future home for the couple. Moreover, a source claimed they have grown closer to the country and could eventually consider putting down roots there.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are eyeing move to Australia after UK, per source

For now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to remain in the UK for a few years. A source told Woman’s Day they want their children, Archie and Lilibet, to spend time with King Charles and experience British schools. But Australia could be part of their longer-term plans. The insider said, “Meghan and Harry have a lot of love for Australia, they are definitely eyeing it up as a place they could put down roots eventually.”

The couple already has a strong connection to the country. They first visited Australia in 2018 during their royal duties. They also returned earlier this year for a four-day trip covering Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra. Meanwhile, Meghan’s return to the UK has also raised questions about how long she plans to stay. A separate report claimed she misses her home in California.

During that visit, the Duchess of Sussex appeared at the Her Best Life event and made a surprise appearance on “MasterChef Australia.” Harry and Meghan also sailed around Sydney Harbour before attending a rugby match at Allianz Stadium.

“But down the line a move abroad, and specifically to Australia, totally appeals to them, for sure,” the insider noted. They further said her lifestyle brand, As Ever, could grow there and suggested she could explore acting or directing from Sydney or Melbourne.

“Meghan also believes that her brand would have great synergy downunder, she sees the opportunity for a lot of growth and there’s no reason why she couldn’t do some acting or directing work from Sydney or potentially Melbourne as a base,” the source said.

Besides, the insider stated, “Going back to America is less appealing now than it was,” adding that the couple is ready for a change and wants to explore different places as a family.
