Billy Bush is expected to join Fox News Media as a contributor, according to a new report. The move comes nearly a decade after Bush left NBC‘s Today following the release of the 2016 Access Hollywood tape involving then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.

According to Variety, Bush is expected to appear on Jesse Watters Primetime at 8 p.m. and contribute across several Fox News Media platforms. He will also continue his independent projects.
Bush has spent much of his career covering Hollywood and entertainment. He worked as an East Coast correspondent for Access Hollywood before becoming a host of Extra and later joining NBC’s Today. More recently, he launched Hot Mics with Billy Bush, a digital show covering sports, politics, entertainment, technology and popular culture.
Bush said he was excited about the new role.
“I’m excited to join Fox News Media and its loyal audience to share my perspective on the people, ideas and moments shaping today’s culture…. as well as the ones trying to undo it!” Bush said.
Bush’s career was significantly affected by the 2016 release of an Access Hollywood recording. In it, Trump made vulgar comments about women. The recording featured Bush and Trump speaking during a 2005 Access Hollywood segment. It was published by The Washington Post in October 2016.
Bush had joined NBC’s Today shortly before the recording became public. NBC announced that he would leave the program days after the tape was released. He later returned to entertainment media, continuing to cover major events including the Golden Globes, Grammys and Academy Awards.
Bush has also covered the Olympics for NBC and reported on Prince William’s wedding to Catherine Middleton.
In addition to his broadcasting career, Bush has appeared in several movies and television shows. He is also a member of the Bush political family. He is the nephew of former President George H.W. Bush and the cousin of former President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
