Taylor Frankie Paul’s mother, Liann May, has opened up about her reaction to Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. May said it “has not been fun to watch.” Her comments come after Taylor filmed a bathtub scene with her ex-boyfriend, Ben Lambert, during the cast’s trip to New York City.

Liann made the remark in a TikTok video saying, “I think that this season was the worst season that I have watched you. It wasn’t like watching you. It just seems like season after season, you’ve gotten away from who you are as a person, and so that was heavy to watch, and it has not been fun to watch, especially not just as the audience, but as your mother. I thought the season was ew, ew, ew.”
Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu on September 10. The season followed Taylor after The Bachelorette, including her hookup with ex Dakota Mortensen despite being engaged to Doug Mason. She also reconnected romantically with Ben and clashed with Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley.
Liann also criticized the way Taylor and “D-bag,” seemingly Dakota, spoke to each other. “It was gross, and I hope that my grandkids never, never get to see that,” she said. “Then also the bath scene with Ben was so disgusting, and I’m not talking about you drinking through the faucet, even though that’s gross too because of New York water. But just having him there and you getting validation from these men. I know that you’re hurting, but it just wasn’t right, and so I hope that you can continue to progress as you’ve been, and I hope that you are a completely different person on season 6 if you decide that you want to do that.”
Production on Season 5 was temporarily paused earlier in March. This happened after news of an alleged domestic dispute involving Taylor and Dakota emerged. The former couple shares a son, Ever. Taylor is also involved in custody disputes with Dakota and ex-husband Tate Paul, with whom she shares daughter Indy, 9, and son Ocean, 6.
