A source has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a parallel public strategy in Britain. The report follows a formal letter issued on behalf of King Charles III clarifying their royal status. The news comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are once again facing controversy for changing their children’s school due to security concerns.
Prince Harry reportedly ‘determined’ to do more work than the Royal Family
Prince Harry is apparently aiming to appear “more relatable” than the royal family. The Sussexes are reportedly preparing for a series of charitable engagements following their return to the UK.
The decision follows King Charles‘ reaffirmation that the non-working royals will remain private citizens despite moving back to Britain. The message has apparently only made Harry more “determined” to prove himself independently.
Per a source, the Duke has lined up a busy run of charity events in September to keep his UK momentum going. He will attend the first-ever Invictus Spirit Awards in London on September 17. The 42-year-old is also scheduled to appear at the WellChild Awards in London on September 21.
Speaking to Woman’s Day, the source shared that the Invictus founder sees their private citizen status as an advantage. They said, “It was a huge kick in the teeth when that letter went out to remind everyone that [Harry]and Meghan are still just private citizens. It felt very pointed and as far as Harry is concerned it has William’s fingerprints all over it.”
The insider further explained that Prince Harry intends to capitalize on the positive reception he received during his last visit to the UK. At the time, he was seen as a breath of fresh air and precisely what the monarchy needs.
They concluded by saying that the King’s youngest son has always been passionate about making a difference. He strongly feels that he and Meghan Markle have a great deal to contribute. Harry reportedly also believes they can do it in a way that is “a lot less stuffy and more relatable than anything the Royals are doing.”
