Sen. Ted Cruz Raises Big Question About Donald Trump’s Successor

Senator Ted Cruz raised a big question about who could be President Donald Trump‘s successor. Cruz believes there is no comparable figure to Trump on the horizon for the 2028 presidential election.

Ted Cruz says there is no Donald Trump successor on the horizon for 2028

Ted Cruz appeared on the latest episode of “Pod Force One” and shared his views on upcoming presidential elections. According to the New York Post, Cruz believes there is no Trump equivalent to succeed him in GOP 2028. He said, “I think the voters are going to decide who are we and what do we believe, and that matters. And President Trump is a unique historical figure. I’m going to say right now, there is no Donald Trump on the horizon to succeed [him].”

About the possibility of JD Vance or Marco Rubio being Trump’s successor, he said, “I think we are going to have a full and vigorous primary and discussion.” Cruz indicated that he would not discuss the possibility until the midterms.

“There will be plenty of time to have these conversations. We are less than two months out from the midterm election. This is the most consequential midterm I’ve ever seen in my life,” Cruz said.

However, he discussed the possible names Democrats might be nominating. He warned of a “very real danger” that a far-left radical would be nominated.

He said, “I think the Democrat Party has gotten radical and extreme, but what’s dangerous is radical and extreme can win. I don’t want to wake up in two years and find a radical, left-wing zealot in the White House. And I think there’s a very real danger of that.”

Cruz added that someone like Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, a centrist, could consider party nomination. He said that, as a party, they are going to have a discussion on who is right for the nomination, strengths and possibilities.

The senator said, “And no one’s going to step into [Trump’s] shoes, but we’ve got to keep winning … and who can produce it?”

Cruz himself ran in the 2016 presidential election and also acknowledged he still has ambitions while speaking to host Miranda Devine.
