Kinsey Schofield shared her stance on the estranged bond between Princes William and Harry. She revealed that the Prince of Wales had “washed his hands” of his brother as the Sussex drama unfolds. She told Page Six, “The Sussexes’ presence will always generate noise and distraction, and I think the first few weeks have demonstrated exactly why the royal family remains concerned.”
The expert emphasized how the ongoing issues surrounding Meghan and Harry are attracting widespread attention, with their children’s recent school switch adding to it. “Now, a school change being played out across the front pages. This is precisely the kind of rolling Sussex narrative the royal family has spent the last several years trying to move beyond,” she elaborated.
Schofield added that William appears to have removed himself from the situation. This is because he has his own family to protect and responsibilities to fulfill as a royal member. She also reflected on the “striking” difference between the Waleses’ and Sussexes’ approaches to their lives and duties.
The expert noted how the Waleses are trying their best to provide their children with stability, while also pointing to Prince George’s new chapter at Eton College. “I can understand why another cycle of Sussex drama would be viewed as an unwelcome distraction,” she said.
Schofield said that William has learned to maintain “firmer boundaries,” which he believes should have been established “much earlier.” King Charles’ eldest son also doesn’t seem interested in reacting to any of his brother’s growing controversies and complaints.
