Hunter Biden has taken a sharp jab at Donald Trump Jr. over his recent luxury wedding in the Bahamas. Biden compared the celebration to his own wedding to Melissa Cohen, saying his ceremony was “so much cooler.”

Biden shared a photo with Cohen on X and wrote, “Don Jr. needed a Russian oligarch, two islands, and a fireworks show. I got married on the rooftop of an apartment building in West Hollywood. It was so much cooler.”
The remark came after investigative reports by ProPublica detailed financial support from Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev for parts of Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson’s post-wedding festivities in the Bahamas. Trump Jr. and Anderson acknowledged that Kremlev, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, hosted post-wedding celebrations as a gift. Anderson said they were grateful for his generosity.
According to records and interviews reviewed by ProPublica, Kremlev covered hundreds of thousands of dollars in celebration-related costs. He reportedly paid $100,000 per night to rent a second private island where guests stayed and a reception took place. Another $70,000 reportedly went toward a fireworks display launched from a barge over the sea.
Anderson said only family attended the actual wedding ceremony. She described the celebrations on the islands as a post-wedding “gift.”
She wrote on Instagram, “Our dear friend Umar very generously hosted two incredible nights of celebrations for us AFTER our wedding…” Anderson added, “It’s unfortunate that something so personal and happy can be recast as something political or sinister simply because of who someone is or where…”
Kremlev leads the International Boxing Association, an organization that has received significant financing from Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom. He has also maintained close ties to Putin.
President Donald Trump did not attend the wedding or the Bahamas celebrations, according to reports. In a White House statement, he said Kremlev did not pay for the wedding itself and described the event as an “after-party” given in the couple’s honor, adding, “Not a big deal!”
