The royal family’s former butler has predicted that King Charles may have something for Prince Harry on his birthday today. Interestingly, this marks the Duke of Sussex’s first birthday in the UK for the first time in six years. Harry and Meghan flew privately from California to Birmingham on August 26. The couple plans on staying in the UK for an extended period of time.
Royal Butler says King Charles might invite Prince Harry for a birthday meal
Former royal butler Grant Harrold believes that King Charles may invite Prince Harry for a special meal to celebrate his birthday. Harrold predicted that while the Duke of Sussex could possibly celebrate his birthday with his wife, Meghan Markle, he may also make plans with his father.
Harrold explained that Harry may celebrate his birthday the way he wants to. The former butler explained that in the past, when the prince was a working royal, he would fulfil work commitments even on his birthday. However, now that he has more time and space, he can celebrate it with his family and friends (via Express UK).
Harrold detailed that Harry’s special birthday routine might include coffee, spending time with friends, and enjoying a nice lunch with Markle. He also added that he thinks that it’s “really possible” that Charles might invite Harry for a birthday meal. According to Harrold, this serves as the “perfect opportunity” to spend some quality time together if relations are going well. The former butler added: “But it will depend on where the King is, of course, and what his diary is like. I imagine the King will also have brought him a present, so he will get those.”
Previously, the King issued a letter via the Lord Chamberlain asserting the Sussexes’ status as non-working royals. The letter stated that Harry and Meghan will remain “private citizens” and cannot carry out royal engagements or use royal titles. The Sussexes’ spokesperson replied with a statement stating that they “were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.” Harry and Meghan previously met with Charles at his private residence, Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, in July. They have reportedly not met the King and Queen since they returned to the UK.
