Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Face ‘Cynicism’ Over School Security Timing — Expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing fresh scrutiny after pulling their kids from their new UK school. It happened just two days into the term. According to an expert, the abrupt switch raises real questions about their planning.

Expert believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be questioned over timing of switching kids’ schools

As per royal commentator Kinsey Schofield says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s school switch is “another example” of poor planning. According to Page Six, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, were withdrawn after the couple’s security team flagged safety concerns over the daily commute.

Heavy traffic and the distance from the family’s home reportedly put serious strain on their private security detail. The family had reportedly settled on the school just weeks earlier, after enrolling at a UK prep school with steep annual fees.

Schofield told Page Six the traffic issues shouldn’t have come as a shock. She said, “None of these logistical problems are a surprise.” Locals had already warned her about the area’s brutal traffic before the family enrolled. She noted the commute involved a 45-minute drive made four times daily, complicated further by the kids’ different school schedules.

According to Schofield, the situation reflects a broader pattern. She suggested the couple tends to choose “complicated” paths, then struggles once those “complications” become real. The timing has drawn skepticism, with Schofield suggesting Harry’s school-run security concerns could strengthen his long-running legal battle for UK protection. “I also think there will inevitably be some cynicism around the timing,” the expert said.

Not every expert, however, agrees. Crisis communications specialist Ryan McCormick offered a softer read, suggesting genuine parental concern was more likely than strategy. He noted that speculation and heightened scrutiny meet everything the couple does.

Still, Schofield questioned why professional security planners missed what locals spotted almost immediately. She also flagged the timing of Meghan’s recent Instagram videos, shared just a day before the school news broke, and wondered whether the post was meant to get ahead of the story.

The family has since enrolled Archie and Lilibet elsewhere. Reports suggest the couple wants the kids to skip using royal titles at school, opting instead for a more low-key classroom experience.
