Now, his son Isaiah Russell-Bailey has publicly challenged the rapper’s account of their relationship, accusing him of “years of absence” and a lack of involvement in his life.
Isaiah Russell-Bailey challenges Chingy’s claims about his involvement as a father
According to The Shade Room, Chingy appeared on blogger Jason Lee’s show, where the rapper spoke about his four children and his strained relationship with his son, Isaiah Russell-Bailey. The 46-year-old appeared to place some responsibility for the strained relationship on his ex-partner, Brittany Perry-Russell. Following the interview, Isaiah challenged his father’s account of his involvement as a parent in an Instagram post.
Isaiah wrote, “I’ve stayed quiet about my relationship with my father because I’ve never felt the need to share that aspect of my life publicly. But after seeing his comments, I feel compelled to speak for myself.”
“Saying something publicly doesn’t make it true. You cannot rewrite years of absence, neglect, or lack of involvement with a few paragraphs about love, support, and being there for your child,” he added.
Bailey concluded, “I know who was present and who wasn’t,” he wrote. “I know who supported me and who didn’t.”
For context, even before this post responding to Chingy’s statement, Isaiah Russell-Bailey had already stood up for his mother. Before that, the Family Reunion star shared a photo with his mother on Instagram, where he said that he owes everything to her and expressed how grateful he is for Brittany Perry-Russell.
Chingy and Perry-Russell welcomed their son, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, on December 9, 2006. The rapper has four children: two sons, Mykael and Isaiah, and two daughters, Galaxii and Keilana. While Isaiah’s mother is publicly known, the identities of the mothers of his other three children have not been publicly disclosed.
