A royal expert claims that Prince Harry‘s luxurious lifestyle display could create the wrong image in front of people. This is regarding his security argument. They suggest that if Harry continues to show that he is able to pay for his expensive security, it may undermine his case.
Expert says Prince Harry’s private jet arrival creates poor optics amid his UK security dispute
Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that the longer Prince Harry and his family may live in the UK without taxpayer-funded security, the weaker his security argument could become. She said that such a display of their affluent lifestyle could give the public a wrong idea and that they may take note of it.
She said, “However, things could change in an instant if Harry or his family were targeted. And there’s no denying that his risk level—given his high profile and military background—must be significant. I’m not sure that Harry does understand the public antipathy to funding his security.”
She pointed out how arriving in a private jet could spoil his image and how it’s not a good thing for his security case. She added that he wants security and offered to pay for it. However, the recruitment of the Metropolitan Police is out of bounds for Harry. Moreover, she stated that he does require armed protection, which his private bodyguards may not be able to provide.
“But if he can afford a jet – or friends who will lend him one – then I understand that many people will feel he can afford to pay for a pretty substantial level of private security, even if without guns. So he doesn’t do himself any favours,” she elaborated.
Recently, Angela Levin, a royal critic, also took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out the Sussexes for wanting “more attention.” This was in response to another user who commented on a report about the Sussexes’ choice of school for their children.
She wrote, “They like more attention. It’s the ‘poor me’ phase.” The original report was from Page Six with the headline, “Prince Harry, Meghan Markle sending children to ritzy $35K-a-year prep school.”
